Ryan was previously a Casting Director at Telsey & Co. where he cast a number of projects including Wicked (film adaptation), And Just Like That, This Is Us, Dear Evan Hansen, Mary Poppins Returns, The Greatest Showman, RENT Live!, Atypical, Fosse/Verdon, I’m Dying Up Here, One Day at a Time, Graves, Grease Live!, Miss Sloane, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Focus, The Intern, Into The Woods, A Most Violent Year, and Ricky and the Flash. Ryan now has his own company RBT Casting.

At RBT casting, we recognize that the best stories are told by and through the people who live them. We also acknowledge that the entertainment industry has historically been dominated by a narrow range of voices and perspectives, leading to harmful stereotypes, exclusion, and erasure of marginalized communities.

That’s why our mission is to actively seek out performers who reflect the full spectrum of human diversity. We believe that every person, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, age, ability, and sexual orientation, deserves to see themselves represented on screen and to have the opportunity to tell their own stories. By casting authentically and promoting inclusivity, we hope to not only create better entertainment, but also to contribute to a more just and equitable society.

We also understand that representation is not just about ticking boxes or tokenism – it’s about acknowledging the richness and complexity of human experience and allowing for a multiplicity of narratives to exist. By working with a diverse range of performers and supporting emerging talent, we hope to challenge conventional notions of what a “leading actor” or “supporting character” can look like, and to expand the boundaries of what is possible in storytelling.

Ultimately, our goal is to create work that reflects the world we live in – messy, diverse, and full of possibility. We are committed to doing the hard work of building a more inclusive industry, one project at a time, and we hope you’ll join us on this journey.
