This will be a live interactive class where you will have a Q&A and you will be able to perform and get feedback from Debi. You will be able to download the recordings of your performances for educational purposes only. You will also be able to send us your headshot, resume, acting reel and anything else you would want Debi to see.

During the course of my 30-year career in casting, I've seen a lot of auditions. A LOT. Consistently, some of the most difficult roles to audition for are the co-stars. From one word to one line to one speech. 

There isn't much material to hang onto - sometimes just one word. One beautiful little word. Actors make the mistake of doing too much or too little, try to turn a one-line role into a one-act play, or don't make any choices at all. There are practical tools and tips that can help you land these roles.

This is a class for actors who are ready to take their careers to the next level by developing the skills necessary to navigate the tricky world of Co-Star roles and auditions. You'll learn how to approach these specific roles with confidence and authenticity.

Debi is an Emmy Award-winning Casting Director with over 30 years of experience. She loves the challenge of finding the perfect person for each role. Debi has cast projects that have garnered more than 400 nominations and more than 100 wins for Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, and SAG awards.

She has assembled casts for more than 500 hours of scripted television shows, over 30 feature films, video games, web series, and hundreds of theatrical productions. She has worked alongside many of Hollywood’s top producers and directors including, Jerry Bruckheimer, Brian Grazer, Kennedy/Marshall, Howard Gordon, Oliver Stone, David E. Kelley, Peter Berg, Darren Starr, Kathryn Bigelow, and Joel Silver. 

Debi is a two-time Emmy Award Winner for Excellence in Casting and has three additional Emmy nominations. She has also been nominated 14 times for the Casting Society of America’s Artios Award (15th time may be the charm!) She is a guest lecturer for UCLA, USC, Loyola Marymount University, Chapman University, and, her alma mater, California Institute of the Arts. 

Debi is currently a Casting Consultant for Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and a partner with Manwiller/Boast Casting.

Please prepare a 2-minute scene from TV or film. Choose material that you would realistically be cast as but at the same time will challenge you and be worth working on in a classroom setting.
