Description
Join us for our Online Auditioning for Animation VO Masterclass with Top Animation & Video Game Director Rene Veilleux! This class will be held online via Zoom and is exclusively for experienced actors. It will be limited to 12 students. Rene will begin by sharing his journey into voice over work and explaining his process for casting and directing, as well as how he collaborates with actors. He will provide insights and tips for auditioning, particularly for self-tapes, covering the dos and don’ts and how to prepare. Each student will then have the opportunity to participate in a live audition, where they will read sides, receive feedback, and learn from the notes given to others. The class will wrap up with a lightning round, where everyone will do the same exercise to practice under time pressure, and will conclude with a Q&A session. You will be able to download recordings of your performances for educational purposes only. You can also share your headshot, resume, and reel with Rene for feedback and instruction only. All materials will remain under the studio’s control and will not be used for casting, employment, or representation purposes.
René Veilleux – Voice and Casting Director
René Veilleux is the CEO and Co-Founder of Verité Entertainment and Verité Studios. A Voice and Casting Director for animated series, films, and video games, René has led projects for Sony Pictures Animation, Mattel, Sanrio, Max, Amazon, Disney+, and Netflix.
René earned an Emmy Award nomination for Voice Directing on the highly acclaimed production Young Love. His credits also include casting and voice directing the Emmy-nominated CBS special Reindeer in Here, the Annecy Jury Award-winner Four Souls of Coyote, and the Cristal Award-winning Gargoyle Doyle. Additionally, he contributed to the Peabody Award-winning Stillwater on Apple TV+ and has directed multiple series for Sanrio, including 13 seasons of Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures.
René’s approach to Voice Directing is defined by a rare duality: a sharp, executive-level vision for the "big picture" and an empathetic, creative shorthand with performers. Known for his clear vision and collaborative spirit, he seamlessly navigates actors through scripts by establishing a creative and supportive environment that ensures vibrant and authentic performances.
