Join us for our 2-Week Television Acting Intensive with "Chicago P.D." Casting Director - Claire Simon!

This class is for actors 16 years old and up and you will be working on scene study and audition techniques. This will be a live interactive class where you will have a Q&A and you will be able to perform and get feedback from Claire. You will be able to download the recordings of your performances for educational purposes and send us your headshot, resume, acting reel and anything else you want Claire to see.

A Chicago native, Claire has been a Casting Director since 1996, casting TV, Film & Theatre in Chicago and the Midwest. This past year she finished casting the feature, We Grown, the eleventh season of Chicago Fire, the tenth season of Chicago PD as well as the first season of the Apple TV series, Dark Matter and Disney’s, Saturdays. Previous projects include casting the pilot, Somebody Somewhere for HBO, the horror feature, “Candyman”, the series Proven Innocent for Fox and Easy for Netflix as well as 5 seasons of the hit show Empire.

In addition to casting for television and film, Claire and her team have also cast for the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Writer’s Theatre, Indiana Repertory, Madison Rep, Milwaukee Rep, St. Louis Rep, Kansas City Rep, The Cleveland Playhouse, Asolo Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Million Dollar Quartet in Chicago, and the Clarence Brown Theatre amongst others. She has been nominated four times for Artios awards, winning in 2016 for Excellence in Casting for her work on the pilot, “Empire” and in 2006 for “Prison Break”. A board member of the Illinois Production Alliance, she also started an annual food drive 14 years ago called Meal for Monologues, to collect food for the homeless which had almost 700 actors in attendance this past year and has become a CSA nationwide event.

Class 1: Please bring a 2-3 page scene from Film/TV. 

Class 2: Please bring a contrasting scene to class 1
